GGBA produced the historic 'Top 25 LGBT Businesses' in the San Francisco Bay Area, in collaboration wtih the San Francisco Business Times.
In June 2015, for the first time in the history of the United States, the Golden Gate Business Association (GGBA), the Nation's first LGBT Chamber of Commerce, produced in collaboration with the San Francisco Business Times the first-ever 'Top 25 LGBT Business' List which was based on the number of company employees. A roster of this sort had never been accomplished before because LGBT businesses were hesitant to 'step out into the light' within the mainstream business community. As a result of this effort five other LGBT Chambers of Commerce throughout the United States have followed suit with lists for their respective cities. Also, as a direct result of this innovative, and ground-breaking initiative, in May 2016 the United State Small Business Administration named Equator Coffees and Teas (Number 6 on the GGBA's 2015 'Top LGBT Business' List) was selected as the National Small Business of the Year. That achievement was the first time in history that an LGBT-certified business had received this honor by the US Small Business Administration.
