Love Hopewell/ Prince George

Becky McDonough
We took over management of the area’s state-certified Visitor Center and tourist promotion in July 2014 as the official hospitality office.
We have brought together the City of Hopewell and Prince George County in this collaborative effort to put us on the map as a travel destination in a state where travelers spend $61 million a day. We rebranded the organization effectively demonstrating the collaborative spirit by the use of a slash in the logo chamber logo and the LoveH/PG logo. In October 2014, we launched our tourism campaign with the unveiling of a “LOVE” sign at the HPG Visitor Welcome Center. The multi-media sign, standing more than six feet tall and 24 feet long, draws attention to the visitor center, ties in with the State of Virginia’s “Loveworks” system of signage, allows us to be listed on the Virginia Tourism website, and ties us into the still vibrant “Virginia is for Lovers” marketing campaign, recognized by as one of the top ten tourism marketing campaigns of all time. In addition to the LOVE sign, we have produced an original video, “Follow the Love to Hopewell-Prince George,” and a new website with Micronet: We are continuing our efforts using the cooperative programs of the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) and working with a consultant to develop a strategic five-year plan to attract more visitors to the area and to increase the resulting economic impact of tourism for Hopewell and Prince George.
