YP Academy helps the next generation of Business Leaders through education seminars, Chamber training, and nonprofit engagement.
The Greater Salem Chamber's YP Academy combines Business Seminars, Chamber Committee Observations, and Nonprofit Awareness to 1. Help the career development of Young Professionals 2. Ensure the future success of the Chamber through Training and Committee Engagement 3. Mentor, Coach, and Engage the next generation of Business Leaders in our community. Seminars: • The program consists of four seminars focusing on topics relevant to the career development of young professionals. Committee Observation: • Participants will be required to attend and observe at least three Chamber standing and/or special event committees during the program. Observation time is to allow participants to: Learn how Chamber Committees work, learn the purpose and function of the committee, determine interest level in participating on the committee, understand how involvement can benefit career development. Local Nonprofit Observation: • Participants will be required to attend a meeting or visit at least one (1) local nonprofit during the program. Observation time is to allow participants to: learn the purpose, function, and mission of the nonprofit, learn how the nonprofit works,determine interest level in participating in the nonprofit,and understand how involvement can benefit career development.
